Who is the driver?
A single, vetted driver-owner operates every ride: background checked and TrustLine registered, CPR & Basic Life Support (BLS) certified, commercially insured with liability coverage, and enrolled in the DMV Employer Pull Notice program and a drug & alcohol testing program.
How do you keep my child safe at drop-off?
Your child is released only to someone on your verified pickup list who also presents the one-time code valid for that day. Even a stolen phone can't collect your child.
Can someone else pick up my child?
Yes: pre-register authorized people in the app. For last-minute changes, you approve in-app with a selfie, and the driver verifies manually.
What happens if there is an accident?
In the event of an accident, children’s safety is our first priority. The driver will contact emergency services when necessary, notify parents as soon as safely possible, and follow appropriate safety procedures. Children will remain supervised, and parents will receive updates.
What happens if the driver is late?
Delays may occur due to traffic, weather, or unexpected circumstances. My-SafeRide will notify parents as soon as possible and provide an updated arrival time when available. If transportation cannot be completed, parents will be informed of alternative arrangements or applicable refunds or credits.
What happens if a child bullies or hurts another passenger?
My-SafeRide has a zero-tolerance approach to bullying, threats, and physical aggression. Parents will be notified of behavioral incidents, and repeated violations may result in warnings, suspension, or termination of service. Serious safety incidents may require immediate action. All situations will be handled fairly, with consideration for each child’s age, individual needs, and applicable law.
Do you serve my area?
We serve all of Contra Costa County, California. Tell us your ZIP code when you join the waitlist: we'll confirm your address before you book anything.
How do payments work?
By card only, through Stripe, with a receipt for every payment. Weekly plans are charged every Sunday for the week ahead; monthly plans every 30 days. Your plan renews automatically, and you can cancel anytime from the app: you keep the days already paid. Rides only run once they're paid. Single rides are paid once we've accepted the booking.
Can I Cancel or Pause My Plan?
Yes! My-SafeRide offers flexible cancellation options for weekly and monthly (every 30 days) transportation plans.
Cancel Anytime: Parents can cancel their subscription online at any time. Cancellation stops future automatic renewals, and transportation remains available through the end of the paid period.
No Cancellation Fees: There are no additional fees for canceling your plan.
Refunds & Credits: Voluntarily canceled plans, missed rides, and unused transportation days are generally non-refundable and do not qualify for credits, except where required by law.
Pause Your Plan: Parents may request a pause for selected dates, subject to approval. Pausing does not extend the paid period or create refunds or credits.
Service Cancellations: Duplicate payments and rides canceled by My-SafeRide will be refunded as applicable.
All services are subject to our Transportation Agreement and applicable California law.
How do I sign up?
